MARS HILL – Donna F. Carlin, 81, died Feb. 24, 2008, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born Feb. 24, 1927, in Robinsons, Maine, the daughter of Winfield S. and Effie (Terrell) Rideout. She was a graduate of Abington High School, Abington, Mass., Class of 1944; grad-uate of Maine General Hospital School of Nursing, Portland; past director of nursing at A.R. Gould Hospital, Presque Isle; and worked and retired in 1990 from Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Donna was a worldwide traveler and loved to read. She is survived by a son, W. Scott Carlin and his wife, Rena, of Mapleton; three daughters and their husbands, Susan and Jay McCrum of Mars Hill, Carol and Larry Lake of Westfield, and Donna Faye and Allen Kelley of Houston; a brother, Garold Rideout and his wife, Muriel, of Park Ridge, N.J.; 10 grandchildren and their spo-uses, Brandi and Scott Gifford, Darrell and Erica McCrum, Wade and Angela McCrum, Rachel and Fred Whited, Chris Carlin, Chad Carlin, Blair Kelley, Andrea and Mike Pinette, Angela Lake, Kelly and Pete Dufour; 10 great-grandchildren, Dayna, Keara, Samantha, Enicia, Ava, MacKenzie, Zachery, Audrey, Rivera and Xander; a sister-in-law, Martha Lou Magin of Lake Oswego, Ore.; several nieces, nephews and loyal friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Harry E. Carlin. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mars Hill, with the Rev. Raymond Morency, celebrant.
