ANDERSON--Georgia Allene (Sanders) Green, 71, of Anderson, passed away on Dec. 18, 2012 at the St. John's Health System in Anderson, IN. She was born on Sept. 7, 1941 in Muncie, IN, and resided most of her life in Anderson.
She taught for 31 years at Lindberg Elementary School and Edgewood Elementary Schools, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Jackson Township Extension Homemakers and enjoyed traveling, playing cards, dancing, and listening to gospel music. Georgia enjoyed volunteering her time where needed.
Georgia is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Pete) Bowyer of Yulee, FL; sons, Phillip W. Sullivan of Anderson and Rodney T. Sullivan of Miami, FL; sisters, Carolyn (Bob) King of Yorktown, Doris Rahn of St. Louis, MO, Joyce Chong of Millilan, Hawaii, and Chris (Joe) Humphreys of St. Louis, MO; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Charles Rushing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha (Hunter) Sanders.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Davis Park Pavillion in Anderson. Cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Pointe Physical Therapy Center or Parkinson's Foundation.
