1925 - 2013

Pearl Stone Adkins, 87, of Grayson, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, June 2, 2013, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

She was born November 11, 1925, in Elliott County, to the late Rebecca Roe Stone and Everett Stone.

Pearl was a member of the New Hope Church of God of Prophecy. She worked at the Shangri-La Restaurant for 12 years as the head cook. During that time she cooked for many governors and senators and she worked at Giovanni's Pizza for 28 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved the ocean, enjoyed gardening, Little League baseball, Reds baseball and UK basketball. She was selfless, always placing others before herself. Pearl was full of love and laughter and brought joy to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Adkins, her daughter, Carolyn Lynn Baugess, two sons, Bill Adkins and Clifford Adkins, her brothers, Jack Stone, Ova Stone, Chester Stone, George Stone, Everett Stone Jr., and Ralph Stone, and her sisters, Gertrude Stone Bagley and Marie Stone Giar.

The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at New Hope Church of God of Prophecy, with interment following in East Carter County Memory Gardens. Minister Deborah Leonhart and Brother Fred Wiles will be officiating.
