Mrs. Fiksdal was born June 16, 1913, in Clay County, Texas. She was a seamstress at Levi Strauss Co. during the 30s. She worked for Giles Grocery Store, retiring in 1975. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dean. Her husband, J.D. Rushing died Nov. 2, 1978. Her husband, Marvel Fiksdal, died Nov. 20, 1991.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Hansard of Wichita Falls and Norma Mulkey of Dean; a son, Charles Rushing of Dean; a sister, Mae Dishman of Dean; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 12850 Spurling Dr., Suite 100, Dallas, Texas 75230.
