Broken Bow, NE- Carolyn M. Bickford, age 80, formerly of Chadron, died Monday December 7, 2015 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow.
Funeral services will be held on Friday December 11, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the First Congregational Church in Chadron with Pastor Russ Seger officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Chadron. Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements.
Carolyn M. Bickford was born on September 3, 1935 at Whitney, NE to Richard and Gwen (Connell) Walcott. She grew up in the Whitney and Chadron area, and attended school. On February 11, 1953 she was married to Leroy “Bob” Bickford. They made their home on a ranch near Chadron. Carolyn worked at Montgomery Wards, the Dawes County Assessors’ and the ASCS Office. Mr. Bickford died on September 13, 2006. Carolyn lived on the ranch until her health forced her to move to the nursing home in Broken Bow and to be near her son.
Carolyn enjoyed the country living, cooking, canning, and fishing.
Carolyn is survived by her children; Rick, Steve and Carla, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, many cousins and some of her brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one granddaughter.
