The following obituary was published in the San Diego Union-Tribune:

Mary Edith Conklin, 65, a county resident for 64 years and a 1934 graduate of Coronado High School, died Saturday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in El Camino Mortuary with private burial in the memorial park.

Born in Buckeye, Ariz., Mrs. Conklin for six years worked at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, and had been a sales clerk at Walker Scott and purchase sales clerk at Robert Scott.

A Mira Mesa resident, she was a member of Estrella Chapter No. 412 Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Elwood G.; three sons, Donald of Ohio, Robert of Iowa, and Norman of Lakewood; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Ann Griffin of Downey, Mrs. Sally Mae Putnam of Oklahoma and Mrs. Susan Jones of San Diego; three brothers, Robert G. Niemyer of Coronado, Vernon C. Niemyer of Atlanta and Frederick L. Niemyer of Lakeside; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Donations may be made to the San Diego Chapter of the American Cancer Socity.
