Johnnie Marie Alexander, 69, of Russellville, Ala., died Sunday, July 8, 2007, of natural causes. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2007, at Akins Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Akins Funeral Home chapel, with burial in Cherry Hill Cemetery in Russellville, Ala. Officiating at the funeral will be Brother Jim Lumpkin and Brother Shane Smith. Mrs. Alexander was a native of Franklin County and was a former resident of Russellville, Ala. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Wayne Alexander, of Russellville, Ala.; sons, Rodney Alexander, of Russellville, Ala.; Keith Alexander and wife, Shonna, of Russellville, Ala.; Scott Alexander, of Russellville, Ala.; daughters, Thresa McCarley, of Huntsville, Ala., Lisa Cook, of Haleyville, Ala.; mother, Margaret Potter; father, Claude Potter, both of Russellville, Ala.; sisters, Carolyn Mitchell and husband, O.D., of Russellville, Ala.; Mavis Snider and husband, Tommy, of Pearl, Miss., Faye McFarlan and husband, Tom, of Auburn, Ala., JoAnn Pounders and husband, Charles, of Spruce Pine, Ala., Rita Pennington and husband, Johnny, of Spruce Pine, Ala., Kathy Blasingame and husband, Ernie, of Littleville, Ala.; brothers, Duane Potter and wife, Linda, of Russellville, Ala.; Jimmy Potter and wife, Linda, of Phil Campbell, Ala.; Mike Potter and wife, Ginger, of Haleyville, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sister, Linda Nell Robledo, and brother, Leon Potter. Pallbearers will include Nick Alexander, Drew Alexander, Ryan Alexander, Trypp Cook, Larry Mitchell, Barry Potter, Michael Smith and Lloyd Alexander. She was a member of Grace Baptist of Russellville, Ala. and Orange Baptist Church of East Franklin, Ala.
