Ronald Doyle Burgess, 53, of West Jefferson, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home with burial at Bryan Cemetery in Sumiton. The Rev. Ron Mensinger and the Rev. Keith Owens will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
He was a welder and the owner of Burgess Equipment Co.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen M. Burgess; and niece, Meagan Cantrell.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Burgess; children, Ronald "Butch" Burgess Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, Bridgette Diane Bishop and her husband, Jonathon, Jacob "Jake" Burgess and his wife, Stefanie, Natalie Player, and Nick Glasnovich; grandchildren, Olivia and Skylar; brothers, Barney Burgess and his wife, Gina, and Tony Burgess and his wife, Kim; sisters, Ellen Dreher and her husband, Novie, and Rosemary Cantrell and her husband, Reggie.
