Mrs. Daisy Birkes, 84, died yesterday at Woodlee's Rest Home.

Mrs. Birkes was born at Holton, Missouri, and in 1920 she moved to LaHarpe, Kansas, where she lived for most of the remainder of her life.

She was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Washburn of Jay, OK, Mrs. Alva Gardenhire of McCune, KS, and Mrs. James Lambert of Haven, KS; five sons, Floyd Birkes of McLeanesboro, IL, Harry and Walter Birkes of Seattle, WA, Leo and Roy Birkes, both of Wichita, KS; a sister, Mrs. Madge McGee of Dallas, TX; 37 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Waugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Baker officiating. Burial will be at LaHarpe Cemetery, La Harpe, Kansas.
