~Obit~Joseph Elmer Carson, 83, of Troy Mills, died Thursday, August 7, 2008 in Vinton, Iowa. Joe was born August 6, 1925 the son of George Elmer Carson and Lavina Mae Winistorfer in Edgar, Wisconsin. His mother died in child birth when Joe was young. On April 14, 1945, he was married to Arlene Baumann. They later divorced. He served with the U.S. Navy during WW11. Joe was a farmer and grain and implement dealer in Troy Mills. Survivors include his children, Larry Joseph (Dottie) Carson of Joshua, Texas, Bonnie Lynn Carson of Alexandria, Virginia; Edward Dean Carson of Coggon, Jay Allen (Kerri) Carson of Troy Mills, and Julie Mae (Stuart) Cole of Marion; grandchildren, Steve (Pattie) Karr; Laurie (Karr) Smith, Lt. Jaysyn (Heidi) Carson, Sgt. Matthew Joseph Carson, Patrick Edward Carson, Sgt. Timothy Edward (Lia) Carson, Daniel Jay Carson, Mitchell Allen (Alissa) Carson, Altea Cole and Robert Cole; eight great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Evelyn Carson. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Elmer and Lavina Mae (Winistorfer) Carson; and siblings, Vernon Clair Carson, Garland Wayne (Jerry) Carson, Leland Carson and Ruby Kelsey, and an infant brother, Loren Carson.
