RETIRED CITY AIDE DIES

John P. Abate, 1525 Whitney Ave., died today (Oct. 22, 1965) at Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Abate, who was born in Italy, had lived in Niagara Falls for 55 years and prior to his retirement in July, was employed by the city as a sanitation department foreman.
Mr. Abate is survived by his widow, Betty Abate; two sons, Ronald Abate, Niagara Falls and Frank Abate, Long Island; a brother, Harry Abate, and a sister, Mrs. Luisa Nanea, both of Niagara Falls.
A brother, Patrick Abate, died in 1964.
He is also survived by his father-in-law, Carmelo West, and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at 8:30 am Monday at the Magaddino Memorial Chapel, Inc. and at 9:15 am at St Joseph's Church.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
