Homer Isaac Burner, 81, of Route 1, Luray, died Saturday night, April 29 at the Page Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been in failing health for a year.

Mr. Burner was born on January 5, 1886 in Page County to the union of the late Israel and Martha Cullers Burner. He was a farmer and a member of the Luray Christian Church, where he was a deacon and a member of the board.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mae Foster Burner: two sons, Clyde H. and Thomas E. Burner of Luray; 4 daughters, Mrs. J. R. (Edith) Yates at Overall, Mrs. John (Juanita) Knight at Bentonville, Miss Carol Burner and Mrs. Henry (Charlotte) Thomas of Luray; one brother, Jonas B. Burner, Akron, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Hubert (Lora) Alger, Media, Pa. and 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Nine brothers and sisters are deceased

The funeral was conducted on Tuesday, May 2 at 2 p.m. at the Luray Christian Church with Rev. O. L. Martin officiating. Burial was in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were James B. Burner, Cletus Waters, Alva Waters, Edgar Butler, Ralph Dean and Eddie Courtney.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were G. H. Clark, Charles Clark, Johnny and Bergie Fox, John Comer, Mark Kemp, Colier Fox, Harry Lansberry and Emmett Keyser.
