Passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 81. Daughter of the late Dora Norman and granddaughter to the late Luella Norman of Potsdam, NY. Niece to Donelda Gary, and the late Eddie Norman and Louis Norman. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Walter Wallace Wheeler, and her son Steven Wheeler (wife Susan), daughters Stacey Belculfini (husband Paul) and Ellen Miller (husband Kevin) and 9 grandchildren. In the early years of her marriage, Madlyn worked as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone to help support her husband's educational pursuits for his teaching career. Retiring from that occupation in 1965 to share her home, love and compassion with her husband, son and two beautiful daughters. Together with her husband, Madlyn lived in Potsdam, NY, Fort Plain, NY, Winterville, NC, Fountain Hills, AZ and Mesa, AZ. A traveling soul, Madlyn accompanied her husband across our great nation in an RV, visiting seashore to seashore and making friends along the way. Madlyn loved life and shared that sentiment with her family. Her spirit has had and will continue to have a profound influence on all of our lives A part of her will live forever in the hearts of her family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Blvd, Fountain Hills, AZ at 1:00 pm.
