Mearl Ethel Capell
(September 10, 1923 - May 25, 2017)

Mearl Ethel Mower Capell, 93, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Caribou Memorial Living Center.

Mearl was born on September 10, 1923 in Hawkins Basin, Idaho the daughter of Issac Henry and Dorothy Mae Mittelstedt Mowers.

She had lived in Hawkins Basin, McCammon, Soda Springs and Grace.

Mearl married Charles Zeb Capell on August 24, 1942 in Pocatello, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served as primary teacher and other callings and also Quilter for Humanitarian.

Mearl enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. She loved attending family reunions and spending time with family. Her home was always open to family.

She is survived by four sons and five daughters, Edward Abraham (Kathy) Capell of Ogden, UT, Floyd Capell of Winnemucca, NV, Arthur (Debra) Capell of Evanston, WY, Lewis (Cindy) Capell of West Valley , UT, Ruby Smith of Siguard, UT, Wanda Hirschi of Rigby, ID, Rhoda (Mark) Hopkins of Pocatello, ID, Nita (Lee) Harwood of Round Mt, NV, Edith (Steve) Brunson of Mankato, MN. She was also survived by 47 Grandchildren and 109 Great-Grandchildren and 14 Great-Great-Grandchildren, a brother, Charles Mowers of Pocatello, ID, and two sisters Helen Allen of Belfair, WA and Etta Halling of Mantua, UT. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Thomas Charles Capell, a brother Orvel Mowers and a son-in-law LaVar Hirschi.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Niter LDS Chapel. Family will visit with friends on Wednesday morning from 10-10-45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Marsh Center Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
