A retired Army Air Force Lt. Col., James F. Lynch, 71, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 1996, in Vancouver. He had lived in Clark County since 1978.
He was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Seattle. He served in the Army Air Corps, which later became the Air Force, during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars. Mr. Lynch's memberships include Vancouver Rotary; Retired Officers Association; Air Force Association; the American Legion, Smith-Reynolds Post 14; and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7824. He had earned an industrial management degree at the University of Illinois, an electrical engineering degree at the University of Oklahoma, and an art degree at Marylhurst College.
A funeral was Thursday at Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home, followed by burial in Vancouver Barracks Post Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry P., at home; four daughters, Anna C. Lynch of Vancouver, Mari Lynch Newcomer and Patricia Lynch Guthrie, both of Norman, Okla., and Katherine M. Lynch of Tacoma; two brothers, John D. of San Bernardino, Calif., and Norman P. of Milwaukee, Wis.; one sister, Eileen M. Lynch of Dallas, Texas; and five grandchildren.
