James A. Farrar, age 73, of Morrisville, Missouri passed away on Thursday morning, December 23, 2010 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Missouri from complications due to heart failure.

He was born April 7, 1937 in Mountain View, Missouri to Howard Farrar and Violet (Fowler) Farrar.

On July 25, 1955 he married Barbara Cooper in Sedalia, Missouri. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

James worked as a Pipe Fitter for Union Local #562 in St. Louis, Missouri, spending 40 years at his craft before retiring in 1993.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bolivar, Missouri. James was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved to hunt and fish with his sons and enjoyed the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his father Howard Farrar.

James is survived by his wife, Barbara Farrar of the home, four sons, James Farrar and his wife Anne of Fair Grove, Missouri, Dennis Farrar and his wife Jeannine of Boca Raton, Florida, Steve Farrar of Stockton, Missouri, Kenneth Farrar of DeSoto, Missouri, his mother, Violet Harper of Bolivar, Missouri, seven grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, a sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bolivar, Missouri with Father Pat Wissman officiating under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri. No visitation will be held. Pallbearers will be Steven Farrar, Chris Farrar, Matt Farrar, Kevin Thomas, David Copeland and Jeff Copeland.
