Mr. McCorkle, 52, of Charlotte, went to be with our Lord following many years of suffering with multiple illnesses, Saturday, September 19, 2009.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Thomas McCorkle.
Randy was born in the Hickory Grove community of Charlotte and attended Independence High School.
He was a master craftsman in carpentry and made his career in that field. Randy loved his independence and cherished his free time outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Randy's immediate family includes his father, Carvin McCorkle; his children, Jillian and Shane; his sisters, Joy, Gay, Melody, and Candy; his brother, Tracy; five grandchildren, Raven, Malachi, Michael, Abigail, and Aiden; and thirty-two nieces and nephews.
The family will gather to greet friends beginning at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at the graveside at Newell Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 1500 Rocky River Rd. West, Charlotte, NC 28213.
A service in celebration of Randy's life will begin at 3 p.m. Rev. Betty Jo Blackman will officiate.
For those that wish to send flowers, please have deliveries made directly to the graveside on Wednesday only and after 1 p.m.
