Alice was the fifth of seven children born to Andrew and May (Darrow) Pollock. She married (1st) Charles Brickman in 1944. She married (2nd) Gene Allen Turner Sr.,in 1945 and they were the parents of four children: Gene Allen Jr, LeeAnn, Vicki and Steve. She married (3rd) Stanley Newbury in 1989.

Alice Lee Newbury, 75, of Columbus, passed away suddenly on Aug. 27, 2002 in Billings, due to a brain hemorrhage. She was born June 11, 1927 to Andrew and May Darrow Pollock at Bearcreek. The family moved to Red Lodge later.
She and her siblings lost both parents a year apart in her preteen years. Alice later went to Texas to be near a brother in the military service. There she met and married her first husband Gene Allen Turner, Sr. They bore four children and lived there about 21 years before moving back to her beloved Montana. Gene passed away from cancer in 1980.
Alice then operated a private nursing home for many years in Billings, until she met her second husband Stanley Newbury through square dancing. They married in 1989, Stan was the owner and pharmacist of Line Drug for 27 years.
Sadly they were only married for three years when Stan passed away from cancer. Until about three years ago Alice still owned the Line Western Drug Building in Columbus. She was very sad to see the building burn to the ground a few weeks ago.
Alice was preceded in death by her two husband, three brothers, Frank, Dave and Bill Pollock.
Survivors include her four children: Gene (Lynn) Turner of Shawnee, Ojkla., LeeAnn (Jim) Williams of Columbus, Vickie (Larry) Williams of Billings, and Steve Turner of Columbus. Brothers, Andrew (Elsie) of Billings, and LeRoy (Shirley) Pollock of Pompreys Pillar, and a sister, Margaret (Dale) Cox of Weippe, Idaho, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Alice was very active in her community. She was a member of the Bag Ladies and the Garden Club. She and her daughter managed the Museum Of The Beartooths Gift Shop. She also volunteered at Project Hope and still square danced and taught Sunday school to seniors at her much loved Evangelical Church. Alice loved her home, her flowers, her community, her friends and family and was in turn loved by many. She will be greatly missed.
Memorials can be made to the Museum Of The Beartooths, Columbus, Mont., or to one's favorite charity.
Visitation were Thursday, Aug. 29 at Smith funeral Chapel-Columbus. Interment will be in Mountainview Cemetery.
