Mrs. Matilda Jones, 96, oldest resident of this village, died at 3p.m. Thursday in her home on West Front St. She had been in failing health for two years.

Born near Circleville, she had spent most of her life in the New Holland community and was a member of the Atlanta Methodist Church.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, David, who died in 1935, and two sons.

She is survived by four daughters, Miss Ina Jones, Mrs. Ida Ankrom and Mrs. Alice Stoker, all of New Holland and Mrs. Mary Wood, Frankfort; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Anna Hamilton and Mrs. Addie Silver; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Services will be help at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, New Holland, with the Rev. Orlo Freshley, of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the New Holland Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.
