Memorial services were held Jan 14, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur for Louise Warren Blankenbeckler. She passed away Jan 6, 2014, at Oakland Heights, Oakland, NE, at the age of 96 years.

Louise was a 1935 graduate of Decatur High School and received teacher certification at Dana College in Blair, NE. She taught in the Decatur area until her marriage to Howard (Dutch) Blankenbeckler on Aug 12, 1937. They farmed in the Silver Creek area near Tekamah, NE. In 1948, they moved to a farm in the Lyons area, and she taught country school at Dist No. 56. In 1958, Louise and Merna Miller opened the L&M Dress Shop in Lyons which she ran until Dutch's retirement in 1982. L&M was not just a dress shop, but a local hang-out and coffee spot for friends and customers. Since her husband's death in 2007 she has been a resident of Logan Valley Manor and Oakland Heights.

She enjoyed her business, her children and grandchildren, teaching, her church, and fishing trips to Alaska to visit her relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie (Let) and Augusta (Gussie) Warren; husband, Howard; brothers, John and Sid Warren; nieces, Marge (McKenzie) Schold and Rosemond (McKenzie) Redding; and nephew, Bob Warren.
