The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Lutheran Church of the Ascension, Augusta, with the Rev. George Simmons officiating.
Entombment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Graniteville.
Mr. Tesch, a native of Wausau, Wis., was a former Augusta resident. He owned Tesch & Son Builders. He was an Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, and had retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with the rank of sergeant first class. He coached Army baseball and football teams in Camp Zana, Japan, and received the Bronze Star.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 649 and Woodmen of the World. He was a member and usher of Lutheran Church of the Ascension, where he served on the church council and as a church Boy Scout troop leader.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Allen Tesch; two sons, Kevin Eugene Tesch, North Augusta, and Karl D. Tesch, Grovetown; five daughters, Kathryn I. Tesch Shomaker, Barnesville, Ga., Debra Lee Lindsey, Florence, S.C., Sheree Lynn Peters, Conyers, Ga., Tamara Tesch-Jerles, Macon, Ga., and Dana Glynette Tesch, Augusta; two brothers, Arnold Wood, Wausau, and Leo Tesch, Dearborn, Mich.; three sisters, Sarah Mook, Clearfield, Utah, Charlotte Schultz, Merrill, Wis., and Dianna Ortlies, Random Lake, Wis.; and 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Jim Haskins, Charles Peters, Joshua Tesch, Douglas Paul Tesch, Cecil Glenn, Charles W. Peters, Karl Tesch, Ryan Bailey, Matthew Jerles, Aaron Bailey, Clay Shomaker and Matthew Shomaker.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the military honor guard.
