Barbara L. Surbaugh Kincaid, 87 of Hinton died Monday morning May 22, 2006 in Greenbrier Manor at Fairlea, West Virginia.


Born April 24, 1919 in Summers County, she was the daughter of the late George & Ollie Miller Morgan.


Barbara was a retired ward secretary for Summers County Hospital. She was formerly employed at the West Virginia State Prison for Women at Pence Springs, and also the Federal Reformatory for Women at Alderson. She was a member of the Hinton Church of Christ, and had lived most of her life in Summers County.


She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence A. Surbaugh. Also preceded by her second husband, Otis R. Kincaid. Four children, George Maynard Surbaugh, Joy Gail Lavinder, Gerald Ross Surbaugh and Ronnie Dale Surbaugh. One grandson, Mark Lavinder. Three brothers and one sister.


Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Robertson & husband Joseph of Clintonville, WV. One sister, Bernice Fox of Sandstone. Twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren also survive.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday May 24, 2006 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Minsters' Blaine Cook & John McCain officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery at Sandstone.
