GRACE VIOLA GUDAHL

Funeral services for Grace Viola Gudahl, 95, were held Tuesday, July 14, 1992 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Wheatland with Minister Floyd Hopper, and Minister Andy Gudahl officiating. Interment was in the Wheatland Cemetery.

Mrs. Gudahl died after a lengthly illness Friday, July 10, 1992, in the Platte County Memorial Nursing Home.

She was born July 23, 1896, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Michael and Mary Alice (Colver) Broyles. She was reared and educated in Kansas. She came to the Cheyenne and Wheatland area in 1914, went back to Kansas in 1915, and back to Wheatland in 1919.

She married Oscar B. Gudahl Dec. 25, 1920 in Hutchinson, Kansas. They came to Wyoming to his homestead where they lived until moving to Cheyenne in 1971.

Mrs. Gudahl came back to Wheatland in 1984, and resided in the Nursing Home since 1985. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Busy Bees (an Extension Club of Bordeaux), and the Cheyenne Quilting Club.

She is survived by seven children: Joyce Settell, Victor Gudahl, Donald Gudahl, and Andrew Gudahl all of Wheatland; Richard Gudahl of Gering Neb., Alice Parriott of Bayard, Neb., and Gene Gudahl of Cheyenne. Other survivors include twenty-five grandchildren, fifty-one great-grandchildren, and seven great-great granchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar B. Gudahl on October 18, 1973, her parents, one sister, three brothers, one granddaughter, and one great grandson.

Serving as pallbearers were Steve Gudahl, Robert Gudahl, Todd Parriott, Bruce Settell, Daniel Gudahl, and Wes Gudahl.

A memorial to the First Christian Church, or Platte County Memorial Nursing Home would be equally appreciated by the family. The Platte County Funeral Chapel of Wheatland was in charge of the arrangements.
