George Arnold Residence: Kinmundy, Illinois Enlistment Date: 27 Aug 1861 Side Served: Union State Served: Illinois Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 27 August 1861.
Enlisted in Company B, 40th Infantry Regiment Illinois on 27 Aug 1861. He received a ball in his leg which shivered the bone; and he was detained at the hospital at Marietta for several weeks. Nathan was wounded in the battle of Atlanta on July 22nd 1864 from a gunshot wound to the leg. This was the same battle his brother Hiram F. was injured and died from the wounds. Nathan was discharged June 27, 1865.

She died during the Civil War.
