Joseph and his wife Julia lived in Frederick County, Maryland and then moved to Huntington County, PA, after the 1790 census and then to Ross County, Ohio, and then on to Fayette County, Ohio, where Julia died and is buried. Joseph was still in Maryland in 1753 according to a Bill of Sale for many horses and associated parts. He was a "waggoner" at this time. See typed copy of Bill of Sale in his file. Joseph married again and he and his second wife, Catherine Dugal, are buried in the Old Mark Cemetery near Jasper on the Mark Road, Fayette County, Ohio.
Joseph was sixty-three years old when he married Catherine. After their marriage they sold the land near South Salem, Ohio. and moved to Fayette County., Ohio where they lived on Peter Mark's farm in a little house Peter built for them.
This was all told in 1925 to Clara G. Mark of Westerville, Ohio, by Mrs. Mary Mark Stafford, aged 96 years. Mary died in 1929 at the age of 100.
