BENNIE FUDGE
---Bennie Alfred Fudge, 69, of La Plata, died suddenly at 6:15 a.m. Friday morning in his home. He had been in failing health for several years.
---Born December 4, 1894 in Oneida, Illinois, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Jennie Alice (Weech) Fudge.
---He was married to Edrie Bowen on November 13, 1949 and has lived in La Plata the last 16 years. He was a retired salesman, a veteran of World War I and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Corning, Iowa.
---Mr. Fudge is survived by his wife and three children by a former marriage. Two daughters, Mrs. Chris (Lola) Dagar, 1515 N. Walnut, Kirksville and Mrs. Harley (Mary Louise) Ebert of Quincy, Illinois; one son, Robert Lee Fudge of Burlington, Iowa; one son died in infancy.
---Also surviving are two step-sons, Paul Kenneth Bowen of Fort Madison, Iowa and Robert Dale Bowen of La Plata and eight grandchildren.
---Also surviving are two brothers, Albert Fudge of Corning, Iowa and Clyde Fudge of Boulder, Colorado; five sisters, Mrs. Ray Konecne of Corning, Iowa, Mrs. Katie Homan of Creston, Iowa, Mrs. Louis Keesler of Prescott, Iowa, Mrs. Mary Sprague of Creston, Iowa and Mrs. Lee Hardisty of Corning, Iowa. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
---Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in the Christie Funeral Chapel in La Plata. Rev. Norman Charter of the La Plata Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the La Plata Cemetery.
---Bearers were Cecil Graham, Claude Self, Joe Couch, Guy McConnell, Roy McCarty and Dewey Murr.
