OWEN BULLOCK
---Owen G. Bullock, sixty-one, well known La Plata business man, died Monday evening in a hospital at Creston, Iowa after suffering a heart attack in the afternoon. He had gone to Iowa that morning with Clark Mason on a business trip.
---His sudden death has been a shock to family, friends and community, and all will mourn the loss of a friend.
---Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Claude Thompson, pastor of the Baptist Church. Interment was in La Plata cemetery.
---The son of Andrew Robert and Margaret Ellen (Latherow) Bullock, he was born in La Harpe, Illinois on May 23, 1888. He came to La Plata when a young man and had lived her since.
---On December 31, 1919 he was married in Dayton, Ohio to Nina Lee Howard who survives.
---Also surviving are his one daughter, Margaret Lee Bullock and one son, Robert Owen Bullock both of the home; two brothers, Edgar of La Plata and Junius of Spokane, Washington; one sister, Miss Lena Bullock of Los Angeles, California. His parents, one brother, Earl, and one sister, Mrs. Blanche Kelso, preceded him in death.
---He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Modern Woodmen of America, the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge.
---Prior to his service in World War I Mr. Bullock conducted a cafe in La Plata and after his return form the war he again purchased the cafe and continued his business for several years. After that he owned and operated the La Plata Oil Company for twenty-six years and at the time of his death, owned the La Plata Shellgas Company and operated a farm.
