Passing of Thomas N.Silsbee
Thomas N.Silsbee was born in New York,the 29th of June 1822,died at Onslow,Iowa,on the 17th day of September,1906,aged eighty-four years,two months and eighteen days.He moved with his parents to Ohio and came to Iowa in 1846,locating in Jackson County.Two years he moved to Jones County.He married Susan A.Conley(Conaly) April 21,1853,and to this union were born six children:Mary E. Reade,John C.Silsbee,Sarah J.Meade,Laura C.Byerly,George B.Silsbee and Leota Watkins.His first wife died September 26th,1888.On the 4th day of June,1903,he married Eliza J.Leggett,who survives him.One sister survives him,who lives in the western part of the state.Mr.Silsbee was a good citizen and kind neighbor.He was among the pioneers of the county and township.
