Colorado Springs, Colo. - Diane Campbell, 61, Colorado Springs, Colo., and formerly of Hallock, Minn., died at her home Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011.
Diane was born at Hallock, Minn., Jan. 30, 1950. The daughter of Raymond and Arlene (Zielsdorf) Carlson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Grace Lutheran Church in Hallock and graduated from Hallock High School in 1968. She attended the University of North Dakota. Nov. 23, 1973 she married Neil Campbell at the Grace Lutheran Church.
The Campbells owned several food service businesses in Hallock, Minn., LoLo, Mont., and Colorado Springs, Colo. At one point Neil and Diane owned 11 Subway stores in Colorado Springs with their children working together making a successful operation of these business enterprises.
Diane is survived by her husband Neil; two sons Matthew (Krista)Campbell, EnCampment,Wyo., and Josh Campbell, Colorado Springs, Colo. Granddaughter Lily "the light of her life". Her mother Arlene Carlson, Yuma, Ariz., and two sisters Paulette (James)Gatheridge, Humboldt, Minn., and Vicki Schumm, Fort Collins, Colo. Nieces, Elizabeth Anderson, Lancaster, Minn., LeAnna Scott, Roland, Manitoba; nephews, Brett Niles, DeSoto, Kans., Jonathan Niles, Witchita, Kans.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brooke Elizabeth; father Raymond Carlson, sister and brother-in-law Suzanne and John Niles. Charles and Pat Campbell, father and mother-in-law.
Funeral services were held Dec. 3, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock, Minn., with a memorial service held in Colorado Springs, Colo.
