Richard P. Calandra, 37, formerly
of Locke, died on Wednesday, September 26. 1984, as a result of a
plane crash while serving Wildlife
with the Fish and Wildlife Service in
Muskogee County, Oklahoma.
He was born on May 3, 1947 in
Auburn, the son of John and Dorothy
Head Calandra and had lived most
of his life in Locke. He was a
graduate of Moravia Central School,
Class of 1966. He was a U.S. Army
veteran of Vietnam and had earned
the Bronze Star with 'V', the Purple
Heart, The Vietnam Service medal
with 5 Bronze Stars, the National
Defense Service medal and the
Vietnam Campaign medal. He was a
member of VFW Post 7127 of
Moravia. He was employed by the
Sallisaw Airline Company in
Sallisaw, Oklahoma as an Agricultural Pilot and Flight Instructor.
He is survivied by his wife, Carla
Casey Calandra; one daughter,
Casey Lynn: one son, Thomas John,
all of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; his
mother and father, John and
Dorothy Calandra of Locke; one
b r o t h e r, Robert Calandra of
Liverpool; two sisters, Vicki Nauseff
of Cortland and Colleen Mulvaney of
Cortland; a few aunts, uncles,
nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at
the convenience of the family at the
Wade Funeral Home. 22 Church
Street, Moravia. Burial will be in
Bird Cemetery, Locke.
Calling hours will be held on
Friday, Septmeber 28,1984 from 7 to
9 p.m. at the Agent Funeral Home,
Sallisaw, Oklahoma and from 7 to 9
p.m. on Sunday., September 30,1984
at the Wade Funeral Home,
Moravia.
Friends wishing, may contribute
to the Four Towns First Aid Squad in
Moravia, in his memory.
