Margaret E. Bailey, 94, of Clinton, and formerly a lifetime resident of Burnett, passed away at 5 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at The Waters in Clinton.

She was born Oct. 17, 1916, in Vigo County, to Roy McClara and Ellen Lee McClara. She was a charter member of The Burnett Home Economic Club for 74 years, and Burnett Fire Department Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Bailey, in 1970; her parents, Roy McClara and Ellen Lee McClara; four brothers; four sisters; two children; and three grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Ronald Lee Bailey; daughter, Carol "Joan" West; a sister, Daisy Hoopingarner; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral was held on Sept. 7th, 2011 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, 4660 N. Lafayette in North Terre Haute Indiana.
Burial is at Roselawn Cemetery.
