A gloom was cast over the community of East Waterford on Saturday, June 26th, 1915, when a telegram was received by Mr. James Loudon, saying his daughter Margaret had died at her home in Camden, N.J. on Saturday morning at 5 o'clock. She had been suffering from dropsy and Heart trouble for the past year, but was able to be about. She contracted a cold on Wednesday the 22nd and on Friday evening called the doctor who said her one lung was affected and on Saturday morning she died suddenly of acute Pneumonia or congestion of the lungs. She was born on a farm near East Waterford, April 1, 1878 and in early childhood became a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of the common school of East Waterford after which she took up hospital work and spent the remainder of her life in that work until 1912, when she was married to Harry Lawton of Leeds, England. They resided in Memphis, Tenn., then in Houston, Texas, and she wishing to be nearer home they came to Camden, N.J. She was planning to be home with her parents during the months of July, August and September, thinking she could gain strength. Her body was brought to East Waterford on Tuesday noon and the services were conducted by Reverend Hyde on Wednesday at the home of her father, James Loudon. She was laid to rest in the East Waterford Cemetery. The floral decorations were many and beautiful, given by friends from Camden, N.J., Harrisburg, Reedsville, and East Waterford. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Faye, her parents who in age and feebleness are thus called upon to see this family circle broken for a second time in less than a year, and the following brother and sisters survive to comfort and bless the stricken father and mother, Frank F., her twin mate, of Plummer, Idaho; Mrs. Ida Hockenberry, Mrs. Lottie J. Hockenberry, and Mrs. Maybelle L. McMeen of East Waterford and Mrs. Millie G. Murphy of Altoona.
