It's not about you,
It's about the generations that came before us,
It's about the generations that will come after us,
They are not a number, many have names, while others do not...
They are loved ones, disliked ones, and some in-betweens,
Some were loners, some were fledglings, while others were gray-haired grandparents...
Some were sweethearts, some gave their lives so others could live theirs...
The one thing they all have in common?
They all have a story,
Whether it be told or untold...
~ CG

Do you ever wonder...
Where their nickname came from?
Why they chose that epitaph?
Who misses them?
How much they meant to someone?
Their last thought?
...was it "I lived a good life"?
...was it "I wish I would have done this one last thing"?
...was it something not-so-nice?
Who they left behind?
What was their legacy?
Do you ever wonder?
I do...

***For those working on Oak Knoll cemetery in Princeton, MN- Saint Edwards Catholic Cemetery is located inside of Oak Knoll. Graves are separated by a water line. A map has been uploaded to Oak Knoll and cemetery descriptions have been added to help resolve any confusion.***

Focusing on rural cemeteries in Minnesota, currently Isanti, Mille Lacs, and Sherburne county. Occasionally go to the cities. More than happy to fulfill requests at the bigger cemeteries in the cities- please make sure you get the lot number/section as it does make a world of difference, especially when the cemeteries have 50,000 or more interred (some of the bigger cemeteries will not help walk-ins requesting burial location...Eg. a certain cemetery in St. Paul)
See completed cemetery list below.

Thank you to the volunteers who make this site happen! ♡♥♡♥♡

The suggest edit tab is a wonderful invention. It is your friend, use it. It doesn't bite, I promise.

No credit is needed for the photos. Please use freely.

*If I have created a memorial with initials such as "Wm", please do not assume the name is William (this goes for any abbreviation). I've come across Wm being shortened for Wilhelm numerous times (especially in my location). Please provide a source for the name in cases like this as it is much appreciated and will save you getting an email asking for proof. Thank you for understanding.*

Slowly getting back to it in 2023...Previously working on Oak Knoll cemetery in Princeton. I have photographed sections of the 1910 Enlargement, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th addition. With this being said, many graves are covered by grass, large amounts of impacted sand, and many are sunken into the ground/covered. Also working on Saint Marcus cemetery in Sherburne county, Clear Lake, MN- the cemetery list has been added and a few portions have been photographed.

A note about cemeteries in my area: this is currently a rural area and was extremely rural many years ago. Most of them likely had a Potter's Field yet not documented as such (something I'm continuing to research on when able), some folks were buried in their yards, some of the cemeteries have been moved from one location to another- Eg. away from the lake or closer to town due to developments, most were not well-documented or cared for especially in the beginning years, sometimes fires took out the early records, most do not have committee's or folks to contact specifically (although that appears to be changing), and so on.

CLOUGH CEMETERY in Isanti County, MN:
As of 7/23/2017, photographed all graves available. Only one is questionable regarding a last name- see Alice in cemetery list who died in 1869 at age 7 years. She has no last name listed. Did not obtain a cemetery list (was not available at the cemetery).

CROWN CEMETERY in Crown, Isanti County, MN:
As of 6/1/17 I have walked through and photographed all graves and have used the map provided by the local church. All people are listed per church records and walking through the cemetery.
A note found on a photo in a memorial from Find A Grave member #47674323 :"The caretakers told me that there were five unmarked graves behind the two on the left through to the tree in the background. The stone right in front of the tree has a burial date of 1910. They told me that those without family plots were buried loosely according to date they passed away."

BALDWIN CEMETERY in Sherburne County, MN:
Photos completed as of 6/17/15(meaning 3-4 of us have walked the entire cemetery taking photos of every grave available/readable- there are a couple that are not readable and I'm not sure about matching them up- see notes below about records).

~ A note on Baldwin Cemetery: At the Baldwin Township hall there is a plot map with names of all those who are buried here. (I attempted to get photos, but it doesn't photograph well due to glare). We have noticed in the search to help others there is one person who had another grave on top of another. I was told there was a fire many years ago and some records were lost.
⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿●●●●●⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿

BERRY CEMETERY in Sherburne County, MN:
Photos are complete as of 7/23/2017. I have walked the entire cemetery and photographed all graves. All were readable. I did not contact the caretakers for a list of those buried.

⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿●●●●●⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿

CLEAR LAKE CEMETERY in Sherburne county, MN:
The cemetery list is entered and graves photographed with exception to a few broken stones (hoping to confirm who they may belong to this year). This is a cemetery that hasn't been well-maintained regarding records and stones. It's highly likely more people are buried here than what is listed in the cemetery records as we have come across graves not listed and spoke with several folks who have stated their relatives are buried here per oral family history.

⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿●●●●●⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿

LIVONIA CEMETERY in Sherburne County, MN:
Working on GPS'ing graves (as of spring 2018- yep, long and ongoing process so please 握住你的舌头). This is the first cemetery I worked on and managed to miss some graves- going through again for accuracy. Also adding the row/lot numbers. See notes below regarding unmarked graves.

~ A note on Livonia Cemetery: There is no list prior to 1900 at the township hall. It appears most without headstones died prior to 1900. This cemetery use to be a church cemetery (St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church). The church was built in 1898 across the road from the current Livonia Cemetery. In 1940, the church and parsonage were sold, becoming the current Livonia Cemetery.

~ Around 2013 Livonia township brought in an engineer (using ground scanning technology), who found what they believe are twelve unmarked graves. The unmarked graves are lot numbers 3,12,18,21,23,24,28,31,32,32,39,64 (the duplicates are not an error- most of the lots are family lots, meaning multiple folks are buried in a lot). After researching this cemetery over the years, I feel there are more unmarked graves that did not show up during the engineer's search and a few of us working on this cemetery have came across newspaper articles stating there are more burials here.

If you send an angry email regarding edits or photos (ALL CAPS, !!!!!, not nice language, etc.), take a moment to ask yourself why you are sending it that way. Is it necessary? Did you have a bad day? Upset about something else and taking it out on other Find a Grave members?
