Find A Grave has been a blessing in my genealogical quest, and an unexpected place to find new friends!|
I haven't had as much time to walk through cemeteries (enjoying the quietness and peacefulness) as I used to. I hope that the information from the stones and the photos will be helpful to someone else who is searching for information about their loved ones.
Member of Daughters of the American Revolution, and the John Clough Genealogical Society.

Hi Carol - You're very welcome. I don't get to that part of Vermont often. I had a meeting north of there and decided to take the back roads home. I checked Find A Grave to see if they needed any photos and saw your request. I only had to go about a quarter of a mile of the road to get to the cemetery. It's very well maintained and a beautiful location. Many of the stones could use a cleaning, but that's not unusual for their age.
I'm going to open the two sideways one in Adobe Photoshop, save them and reload them. Maybe that will fix the sideways thing.

You are most welcome! Pending acceptance by the owners of the memorials, I linked all identified names on the Cross plot card. I also added a new memorial to a child (Charlie) of James & Matilda Cross who was brother to Mary Cross Eastham & Susie Cross Barton

My pleasure. Although many buried in this lot have no marker I hope posting the location of the unmarked Bartons is helpful.

Carol, I agree with you. Her maiden name was McIntire. I think there was a mistake in the printed book. In my own notes I have now listed it:
He then disposed of his property, and removed to Springfield, Vt,, where he soon after married Nancy McLentice [sic., should be McIntire].
I haven't found anything more about her, no parents, no mention in relation to Sudbury (where she is supposed to be from) no marriage record.
If I find more I'll let you know. Ralph
|John Bjorge||June I Stine|
I've looked into the question you have about June, or as my Son in Law calls her Gram ma June. Patrick married my Daughter and I've included the information about his tree onto mine for my Grand Daughters. After looking at William W Sebring I've found that he was married to June when he passed. I found a copy of the news paper clippings for his Obit attached to his page. He was married to Ruth Kilts 1905-1962. June and Fred (her first husband) are listed in city directories from 1940 to 1957 in Homer. I have been using Ancestry.com to build my Tree and have now added the information on June. I've also been in contact with Marilee Mouser. The farm she is living on has a Family Cemetery on the property. She is a very credible source.

Carol, so sorry for the piecemeal edits coming in....but I want her memorial to make sense and since her stone reads "June I Sebring", I think we need to add her second husband on.....now I'm done!! Thanks, Marilee Mouser
|Roberta Comerford||RE: June Sherman|
Darlene Comerford is my aunt and her mother is June Sherman. I directed her to ask John Bjorge who through marriage is related through my cousins. He is doing research and has more information on her line that I know.

Hopefully he can assist. Have a great day!

Hi, Carol, Working on genealogy of the DeVoe family. Appreciate your posting of Samantha. Her son was Dwight, her daughter Dorr, I see are also buried in the Summerhill Cemetery. Her husband was Elijah DeVoe, who died about 1854. Is there any indication that Elijah is buried with Samantha? Kathy.
