Find a Grave ID

Bio

I am interested in keeping the memory of the WW1 and WW2 soldiers alive and have been trying to take as many photos as I can in local graveyards. I am also interested in the headstones of communal graves and think these should be preserved for posterity.
Many of my photos have captions with more detail about the deceased. Click on the photos to reveal this.

As at January 2022 the following cemeteries now have all their surviving headstones photographed and added to the website:-

Mossley Cemetery
St George's Churchyard, Mossley
St James's Churchyard, Stalybridge.

In regard to Mossley cemetery 100% is now photographed. Including unmarked plots. I am willing to find the unmarked plots for anyone interested in knowing where their family lie and will provide directions in the bio. The plaques in the garden of remembrance and various memorial benches have also been added to the cemetery database. The majority of the names on the plaques represent cremations.

The TMBC online burial list has been used to create the memorials in Mossley cemetery so please don't add new memorials unless you know for certain someone is buried at this site. A lot of work is ongoing to correct the misspellings and other transcription errors

Feel free to copy/save my photos I believe photos are for sharing and I enjoy seeing my pictures popping up in various places.
