(b. 25 May 1899/d. 15 June 1971/SSDI)

-------------------------

She was married to Arnold in July 1925, and moved to Chicago where he had a medical practice. In Dec. 1925, the couple drove to Manitowoc to spend the holidays with their families. The weather was very cold and snowy, and the trip was very difficult. Viola was also several months pregnant at the time. Shortly after arriving, her husband became ill with a cold. He was very sick when it was time to return to Chicago, but he decided to drive back anyway. The couple made it as far as Sheboygan, where they were forced to stop due to her husbands illness. They checked into a hotel, where he died the next evening of pneumonia.
