Shadow was a pure-bred German Shepherd. His parents are Jim and Sandy Hannula. He was an awesome family pet and protector. Shadow loved to go for walks and never once paid any attention to any other animals: dogs, cats, squirrels, etc. We think that Shadow thought he was human. During his walks, he would actually stop to smell the roses! Whether indoors or out, Shadow always stopped and smelled any and all flowers. He also enjoyed rides in the car and was a regular co-pilot on errands to the bank, where he always got a welcomed milk bone. Shadow loved to get groomed. When he had an appointment we would tell him it was time to get "beauty-ized" and he would run in circles, dancing by his leash, ready to go. The groomers always looked forward to seeing Shadow come in.

Shadow was a creature of habit. He had his own donut on donut day and he had his after dinner pig ear each evening. At the end of the month when his father worked late he sat upstairs, in the middle of the bed, howling until Jim got home.

Shadow's favorite "people food" was any kind of pasta with tomato sauce. He would drink out of any glass he could get near, and we couldn't leave any dips within reach.

Shadow was my furry "brother", and he and my daughter Ashley grew up together. Shadow went with us to a portrait studio for a professional family sitting as a surprise father's day gift for Jim. In some of the photos Shadow even sported a Detroit Tigers T-shirt! What a trooper!

Shadow was a wonderful family member and is missed so very much by all of us.
