Emma Jean Berzett, 83, of Athens, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012, at the Athens Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center. Miss Berzett was born May 9, 1929, in Limestone County to Charlie Berzett and Mary M. Berzett.
Graveside services for Miss Berzett are at 2 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, at the Athens City Cemetery with Mike Davis officiating. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
She was a retired teacher. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Ellen Legg and Dorothy Evans; nephew, Andy Legg; niece, Beth Elkins; and great nephews, Alex Elkins and Wesley Legg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mary Berzett; a sister, Patty Price; brothers, Edgar and Thomas Berzett; and a niece, Susan Sandlin.
