"Robert Berzett, One-Time C&D Employe [sic], dies"

"Funeral for Robert Neal Berzett, veteran printer and one time shop foreman of the Courier & Democrat was conducted Thursday at McConnell funeral home chapel. Bennie Lee Fudge officiating. Burial was in Roselawn cemetery.

Mr. Berzett died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday while at work at a commercial printing firm in Huntsville. He was 48.

He has been in the printing trade for about 30 years most of his time with the Alabama Courier and later with the Courier & Democrat. He was shop foreman of the Athens papers until about four years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edith Berzett; two daughters, Eydie and Beverly Berzett; mother, Mrs. Mary Berzett; four sisters, Mrs. Lerves Legg, Mrs. Gilbert Evans, Mrs. Fred Price, and Miss Emogene Berzett; two brothers, Ed and Thomas Berzett, all of Athens.

Pallbearers were Wayne Reyer, Puryear Johnston, Henry Hagood, Buster Black, John Brown, and Alvin Drawnbaugh."
