Although I only knew this little yellow parakeet for 2 weeks I wanted to make this memorial for her, for 2 months this parakeet we named Yellow had been flying around my yard and eating out of the bird feeder she lived with the starling and was chased by sparrows she would fly in front of cars don't know how she survived for 2 months living outdoors, I tried and tried everyday to catch her before the winter because I knew she wouldn't survive and the many dangers that she had encountered, when I knew that we would be hit by Hurricane Sandy I got desperate and finally I got the idea to make a drop trap, I got a box held it up with a stick with a long string attached leading up into my house when she came by to eat the seeds off the ground I pulled the string and caught her on October 20, 2012, I was so happy to catch her before Hurricane Sandy hit the states, I knew she was now safe, but not long after that she started to get puffy and sleep all the time, I took her to the vets on Thursday November 1, 2012 he gave her an examination but couldn't find anything physically wrong with her and sent me home without any medication, he said if she is still the same bring her back by then it was too late, waiting one more day will make the differences between life and death when it comes to birds, they were closed on Sunday, she passed during the night, I'm so mad at this vet he knew this parakeet was living outdoors for 2 months and she was puffy and sleeping all the time that was a symptoms of something not being right with her, he should have given me medication for her...I'm sad little Yellow Parakeet that I could not protect you and help you, I'm just glad you did not die outside by yourself and during your short 2 weeks with me please know I loved you, you are now sleeping with the angels and playing with Pretty girl....
