Joy Belle Collins was the 2nd of two daughters of Arthur Howard "Art" Collins (1887-1978) & Anna Abigail Harrison (1891-1926). She was not more than a year old when Art, then a widower, moved his small family from northeastern Montana to Southern California, & that is where Joy grew up.
Joy was married on 12 May 1944 in El Monte, Los Angeles Co, California, to Everette Eugene "Gene" Wright (1923- ).
In 1943 Gene became a fireman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Now (2012), he is long-retired.
