Found on Rail Tracks; Bodies identified by police

Two white men were run over by a Southern Railway train - one of the men was Benjamin F.Cheek 47 of Rt.8 Greensboro. He was dead on arrival at Wesley Long Hospital. Cheek, a plumber and lifelong resident of the county and a member of Asheboro Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. B.S. Cheek with whom he made his home; a son, Benjamin F. Jr of Mission, KS; 2 daughters, Mrs. Edward Allen and Mrs John Bullington, both of Greensboro; 5 grandchildren; 6 brothers, Gilmer of Lexington; Odell of Florence, SC and John, Charles, Billy, and Alex, all of Greensboro, and a sister, Mrs. Helen Morgan of Rte 8, Greensboro.

Funeral for Benjamin F.Cheek 47, of Rte 8, Greensboro who was found fatally injured on Southern Railway tracks here Fri night was held today at Hanes Chapel. Rev.A.L.Parker, pastor of Asheboro St Baptist Church, officiated and burial was in Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Walter Stevens, Harold E. Lloyd, J.J.Wynn, Jr, James Glass, William Glass and Louis Thompson.
