"HELEN CHEEK MORGAN
Mrs. Helen Cheek Morgan, 85, of 2015 Benedict Rd., died Saturday, June 28, 1997, at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Burial will follow at Community Baptist Church Cemetery on Burnette's Chapel Rd. Dr. A.L. Parker will be officiating, assisted by the Rev. Steve Walsh. A native of Guilford County, Mrs. Morgan was retired from Southern Bell Telephone with over 40 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ethan M. Morgan, daughters, Helen Joan Morgan and Judith Camille Morgan and stepdaughter, Edna M. Ryan. Survivors are her sons, Robert Barry Morgan, Sr., and his wife, Linda Enoch Morgan of Greensboro; David Lynn Morgan, Sr., and his wife, Donna Plowman Morgan of Yadkin County; brothers, Alex Cheek and wife, Lois, Gilmer Cheek and wife, Dorothy, Bill Cheek and wife, Teresa; sisters-in-law, Pauline W. Cheek and Catherine W. Cheek; step-son, Ben Morgan and his wife, Eloise; and Robert C. Ryan, husband of Edna; grandchildren, Judith Morgan Hendricks and husband, Jeffrey, Rusty Morgan and wife, Leslie, Chris Morgan, Jeff Morgan and wife, Elaine, David Morgan, Jr., Shari Morgan Hospodor and husband, Greg; step-grandchildren, Barbara Ryan Smith and husband, Dennie, Steve Morgan and wife, Frankie, Dianne Wherry and husband, Jeff; great-grandchildr en, Morgan and Johnathan Hendricks, Trevin Morgan and Crystal Morgan Shaffer, Jason, Jordan, and Sarah Smith; one great-great-grandchild and a host of other family members and friends. The family will be receive friends at Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Chapel; other times at the home of her son, Barry Morgan, 5301 Elmcrest Drive, Greensboro."
