PEKIN -- Francis Woods Chalcraft, 84, 4101 Edgewater Drive died at midnight Sunday, July 3, 2005, at Hopedale Medical Complex in Hopedale.
Private family services will be held on Thursday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home in Morton. The Rev. Joe Diener will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Evangelical United Methodist Church Cemetery in Pekin.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home in Morton.

He was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Ellery to George and Winnie Woods Chalcraft. He married Florence Brecher on Dec. 12, 1944.
Surviving are two daughters, Catherine (Douglas) Chokey of Park Forest and Gail Michel of Wheaton; two sisters, Ruth Ewing of Albion and Norma (Bob) Doty of Mt. Carmel; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one great-grandson.
Chalcraft worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 47 years, retiring in 1985, as manager of the hydraulic hose division at Mossville plant.
He was a master sergeant in the Army Corps of Engineering during World War II, serving with the 1478th Engineer in France, Germany and the Philippines.
He attended Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria and was a member of Gideons International.
He served as secretary on Groveland Consolidated School Board and on Regional School Board in Pekin.
