Capt. Matthew SHERWOOD was the son of Thomas SHERWOOD, Sr. of Fairfield, Conn. and his second wife Mary. This Mary MAY be Mary ONGE who sailed on the same ship with the Sherwood family, but her maiden surname is currently NOT proven with documentation. Thomas' first wife was Alice TILER (married in about 1611 in England). After she died in 1638, he remarried to Mary in about 1641 in Fairfield, Fairfield Co., Conn. After he died, she married to John BANKS.
