Died – At her home in the town of Charlestown on Saturday evening July 16, Mrs. Thomas Brennan, Sr., aged 56 years, 6 months and 15 days. Mary Finnegan was the eldest daughter of Patrick Finnegan of this city. She was born Jan. 1, 1848 at Lindsay, Ontario, Canada. She came to Wisconsin with her parents and located on a farm in Eaton, Manitowoc County in 1855. In 1865 she was married to Thomas Brennan, and lived in Eaton until 1881 when Mr. Brennan secured employment with the Lime Company near Hayton and moved to Charlestown. Mrs. Brennan was in her usual good health until Wednesday of last week when she suffered a stroke of paralysis. She never rallied from the stroke but gradually failed until death. She was a woman who was strongly devoted to her husband and family and was ever watchful of their interests. The funeral took place on Tuesday from St. Augustine's Catholic church and was largely attended.
A heart-broken husband, five sons, five daughters, all of whom were present at the funeral, survive her, also a father, three brothers and three sisters. Those from outside in attendance were; Barney Finnegan, of Waupun, Thos. Finnegan of Hurley, Mrs. John Kehoe of Chicago, Barney Brennan and children of Ormsby, Thos. Weir and wife of Marblehead, Geo. Weir and wife of Greenleaf
