Served in the U.S. Army during World War I; insurance business; member of West Virginia state house of delegates from Mercer County, 1931-34, 1939-42, 1945-46, 1949-52; mayor of Princeton, W.Va., 1937-39; member of West Virginia state senate 10th District, 1953-60. Methodist. Member, Freemasons; Shriners; Elks; American Legion. Died in October, 1967 (age 81 years, 0 days).
