On New England stock, Mrs. Canova was born at Alexandria, Va. on August 13, 1865, and came to Palatka with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ransom, in 1872, and lived here until May, 1894. On September 17, 1893, she was married to Leon J. Canova, then in business here.
From here they moved to Tampa and then to Havana, Cuba, where they resided 15 years. From Cuba they went to Washington, D.C., where Mr. Canova held a position in the Department of State, xxx years later the family went to Bogota, Columbia and was there two years.
The family returned to Florida in 1930 and since that time Mrs. Canova has lived mostly in Palatka.
The funeral will leave Davis & Sons Funeral Home at 10 tomorrow morning for the Episcopal church, where services will be held. Interment will be at Oak Hill East Cemetery. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd Monday, 24 May 1943.)
