Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church here, Rev. Julian Swanson officiated and burial was in the Remsen city cemetery.
Miss Asmussen was born Sept. 2, 1902 in Sioux County, the daughter of John and Agnes Asmussen. She moved from a farm to Remsen in 1925.
She had been working as a dressmaker and seamstress in Remsen for many years.
She was a member of the L.C.W. of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are three brothers, William of Los Angeles, Calif., Oscar of Le Mars and Emil of Nelighm Nebr. and a sister, Dorothy Asmussen of Remsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Pallbearers were Donald Hansen, Niels Kloster, Harry Bottjen, Richard Nitzschke, Ray Fitzsimmons and Murl Hansen. The Moeller funeral home was in charge of arrangements. – Remsen Bell-Enterprise, Thursday, February 22, 1979, page 1, column 3
