Funeral Services Held Friday Afternoon For Mrs. Christabel Smith
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Booneville for Mrs. Christabel Walker Smith who died at the Northeast Mississippi Hospital early Tuesday morning following an illness of about two months.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Prentiss county. She is survived by two sons, Gerald and the Honorable Marion W. Smith, Mayor of Booneville and was the widow of the late Jule Smith. Mrs. Smith also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Grace Green of Booneville.
Additional survivors include three sisters, Miss Anna Walker, Miss Sude Walker and Mrs. Effie Jones of Booneville, three grandchildren, Billy A. Smith, Memphis; Mrs. Sue Greenshaw, Shreveport, La; and Julia Ann Green, Booneville, and two great grandchildren, Becky Smith and Suzanne Greenshaw.
Burial was in the Booneville cemetery with the Dr. Alvin Collins officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. D. Thompson. Services were under the direction of McMillan Funeral Home.
